Amazing resource for those seeking A+ certification or anyone interested in deepening their basic computer repair skills

In books like this, there's a tricky balance between providing content and being readable/approachable.

Clarke et al have found a perfect balance. I'm an interested amateur in IT, a lot of casual experience, but not extensive. When I took the pre-test at the beginning, I was happy to find I got a high majority correct. I wondered if the book was worth it. I kept reading, and the style and approach kept pulling me along, and soon found a number of gaps in my knowledge that was quickly filled. The key for this book is certification, and so that's not just providing information about computers it is also about providing cues for what the exam requires. They have broken up subjects into easily managed chunks, with a lot of self-tests along the way that show if you've learned what you've just read or if you've skimmed a bit too quickly. This is a great manual not only for certification training but indeed a one-stop-text for anyone interested in computer servicing. There are a lot of people, after all, who aren't going to be in IT vocationally, but find themselves in the role of computer technician for a wide circle of small office needs, family, friends, and personal interest.

This offers a strong overview of Windows, with helpful guidance in MacOS and Linux. It covers up through Windows 8.1, which is one of my minor disappointments as adding Windows 10 info would keep this up to date for a while longer, though not very many businesses have switched over to Windows 10 as far as I know.

For the amount of information, readability, immediate usefulness and broad development of skills, this book is top notch. Covers software, hardware, and network issues in a focused way, never fluffy but also not too much too quicky. Highly recommend

Damaged

I disliked the product. The book cover came damaged and the binding was torn. The pages inside were torn as well. Other than the book being damaged everything else was okay. I'm not sure what happened before packaging to a new book.

Excellent case studies book

This case studies book serves as a supplement to basic pathophysiology textbooks for learning the subject of pathophysiology. The book is not intended to stand alone unless the student has some background in pathophysiology, but used while taking a pathophysiology course, it has significant merit. I highly recommend this case studies book for anyone who is currently enrolled in a pathophysiology or pathology course. Only teachers who have adopted the case studies book for a pathophysiology course have access to an answer key for the book.

Just what I needed...

I just started teaching a Pathophysiology course & was looking for case studies for the students. These case studies are current, concise, & reasonable for the students; each one provides enough information to get them started without 'leading' the student. I watch the students as their critical thinking skills start to spark...You know, the 'Ahhh, now I get it!" expression that comes over their faces. Well worth the investment. Thanks~~~

Easy Read with good case studies!!

I had to purchase this for my Advanced Pathophysiology class in my Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. It is very easy to understand and have pretty good case studies. I like that the CD that accompanies the book goes into some detail in explaining the cases further and the disease processes without giving you the answers to the questions. It stimulates one to think!! Once this class is over I will go back from time to time to review!!

An informational and entertaining read-

"Out of the Box and onto Wall Street" is different from most finance related books. It is not only informational, but so original and entertaining. It is the perfect blend of theory and personal stories over the last few years of tumultuous market times. I highly recommend it and think it would make a great gift for any market follower!

COMPILATION OF OLD NEWSLETTERS

I recently bought and read this book hoping to get some solid insight into bond buying for individual investors. While if offered some insight into the heirarchy of investing for safety and capital preservation, you mostly had to glean that out of a series of newsletters he wrote for his professional investment clients. I think in essence, he just stapled together a bunch of old newsletters. I would like to have seen a chapter on bond investing, past, present and future. I assume Mr Grant is very successful but I fail to see how this book helps the average guy get ahead in the bond world. He tended to drone on about some federally backed preferred stock he bought for his mother and then the federal government wouldn't make good on the dividends. He attributed a quote to Abaham Lincoln on page 354 that was actually made by William J.H. Boetcker in 1916. I gave the book to the public library hoping someone, perhaps smarter than me, would get the benefit that I missed.

Mark approaches the financial markets with discipline, perseverance and consistency. His daily market commentary displays a knowledge and understanding that only 38 years on Wall Street can, but his sense of humor is what makes his musings so original. This book is a "best of the best" of Mark's daily commentaries over the last few years and his foresight and interpretation of geopolitical and economic events is an invaluable, entertaining and educational read for any investor.

A Highly Recommended Political and Romantic Page Turner

When my friend first recommended this book I was skeptical about starting another World War II or Spanish Civil War historical novel, especially one that’s close to 900 pages. But she insisted and I’m glad that I took her word for it. This is a page turner if there ever was one and I lost sleep intent on knowing what was going to happen next. Julia Navarro, who I learned is also a political analyst, packs history into a sweeping storyline that involves a tragic love story and family drama. And the mysterious woman at the center of this novel is as complex as I imagine a real life Mata Hari ala Marlene Dietrich to be. Though deceptively simple on the surface, due to the author’s (and translator’s) clear and enticing writing style, Tell Me Who I Am manages to take you deep into the darkness of war. Navarro masterfully recreates what is was like to be a politically active woman (and mother) during war time and offers you a window into the world of spies, concentration camps, and all the ordinary people whose lives were destroyed in the name of freedom and nationalism. I want to read more by Navarro in English translation.

What an amazing ride! Could not put this down. Felt like i could see amelia and hear the sound of her laugh. Very real. A remarkable life story of a courageous and passionate woman. Seeing the 20th century conflicts through the eyes of a spaniard was a refreshing perspective for me.

Having read and enjoyed The Bible of Clay and The Brotherhood of the Holly Shroud, I was delighted to see that Navarro's latest novel is also available in English. Like her other novels, this memoir is a page turner packed with intrigue, espionage, emotion and love. It tells the memorable adventure of two unforgettable characters whose lives paint a vivid picture of the 20th century. This is, without doubt, Navarro's most ambitious novel.
